Does Ultra 2 do or allow the same features as Visual Communicator 3? Seems like Serious Magic had a software for Video Blogging ( VlogIt, etc.) Which is something I’m interested in.

No, SMU2 and VC3 are completely different products
SMU is “the” software for chromaKeying and Alpha channels (using Virtual sets), VC3 is a Video tool dedicated to “news” creation in Broadcast style

I have old pc versions of Visual Communicator Pro, Visual Communicator 2 and Visual Communicator Studio for PC.

no relation with Visual Communicator and others
SMU2 is a Keying software, Visual Communicator is an editing video software
so no way to “compare” or “upgrade”, because we are talking around such different products

best way to work with Vstes is usetthem into Smu2 then export as a normal clip, because smu2 has more native function respect the “part” of it improtaed into Premiere

it is a proprietary format
in ANY pro editing video (worldwide) the best and safe valid format is AVI uncompressed, compression must be done AFTER editing process, not During process.
Also, uncompressed clip are require to work fine with Alpha channels

I’m now looking at which virtual sets to start with.
I have a Original Copy of Ultra 2. After a while I have not been using it on today and I get the error message:
The Ultra 2 activation period has expired. WOuld you like to activate?? I press YES and PC does nothing.
I try to reinstall program but says: License number not valid…What can I do? Thanks

yes, SMU2 works perfectly with AVi uncompressedn files, wich anyway is ever the best format to work with ANY editing video software
MOV are not fully supported (depend on source) but AVI it is definitely to prefer, wit no doubt and best results
There are several virtual sets that I would like to purchase. In the checkout during Purchase there are several options. One option is backup CD. If I purchase the CD will I then own the sets and be able to reinstall the sets in the future without any future tech help or downloads?

1. I am wondering that if Adobe bought out Serious Magic back in 2004, 6-7 years ago does that mean that this software is many years out of date (coding/ software/technology)?
2. I use a MACBOOK PRO but I use Windows Parallels for MAC to use Windows applications. However, I am unable to use my inbuilt camera nor can I record any audio in my Windows. It seems that these things are not recognised properly using Parallels. So it is for this reason that I wonder if it will work for me.
3. I am only just setting myself up to do some small scale production work.
I have bought an AVCHD Camera, will the software work with the format?
4. Is it possible to buy & have your team install it on my MAC with Windows Parallels for MAC & if I find I cannot run it properly, will you refund my money as says in your sales information?
5. Virtual, still looks Virtual. I am extremely critical of images that “look fake”. The “obvious Virtual” sets are ok because that meant to look virtual, but where I am concerned are the sets that are supposed to look “real”.
So, can you please tell me if there are “EXTREMELY REAL” stes available as any options?
6. Is it possible to use virtual sets packages from any other provider of virtual sets as well? eg: Virtualset.net Tubetape.net etc.

1-keying process is almost unchanged thru years, Adobe Premiere (actual version) still using SMu technology for chromaKey effect
2-no idea sorry, this is a Windows only software, we have not experience on mac “world”
3-see reply Nr1: SMU is keying software, just use uncompressed files…so it virtually can work on ANY format
4-no, for same reason at Nr2
5-Vsets are…virtual, but if you want you can key the videos then apply ANY other virtual background into your editing video software. By the way, check the prices
and look around…you’ll easily check that our Vstes are the best and cheaper out there.
all that said…it remain a your personal taste and choice
6-yes, but they must be in appopriate SMU format, just check into these packages if SMU2 is fully supported

Hi, I was wondering does Ultra come with a motion tracker? I have a keying software but i don’t think it’s a good as the one you offer, im just wondering if I purchase your product do I need to purchase an addition software to have motion tracking. What I mean is having the camera move in with the background. please advise.

Meaning the virtual sets you offer fly into the subject -that’s done by tracking; is it built inside the virtual set or is it the software.. please advise asap.. I need to make some decisions.
SMU doesnt have a tracker as software, but use a special traking runtime inside Virtual Sets wich can be used ONLY with SMU Vsets, exactly as you can see in preview and demos

1. is it possible to do multi camera production.
ex:
a presenter and two guests are on the set. 3 cameras on the set. can i use the SMU2 and cut the shots while the programme runs. something like useing it almost like a vission mixer.
2. can i remove your furniture and make my charactors sit on my sofas on your virtual sets.
ex:
on ur virtual set library 2 there is a modern living room. i want to shoot a host and a guest scene. can i do it?
