1-as you can see in tutorials, SMU is very simple to use or Keying
2-SMU is NOT a Editing Video Software, but a Special effect vieo production console. File MUST be exported in AVI (uncompressed, wich is the standrd for PRO production) and inserted/edited in Any Editing video software you have and use it accordly
Do you supply the green backdrop? Are there additional accessories that I must purchase in order to operate SMU2?

you can find backdrop everywher on the net OR do-it-yourself following step-by-step method described in various youtube videos…just search ;–)
smu work better with ther standard pro mode wich is AVI uncompressed, any other step you mention are NOT related to Smu features, just your postproduction necessities, so we cannot tell you nothing about these

1-No sets are included, Vsets are apart from the core program
btw some sample of Vsets 1 are included, wich willproduce a DEMO watermark in final rendering
2-if the hardware doesnt change, you will have the software reinstalled for free (one time service)
Hi, I purchased ultra 2 from your site and I have a question about the program. Is there any way to make my video a transparent one so that i can use it as a flash vid on my site like a “talking head”?
this must be done BEFORE using SMU2.
You have to create an AVI uncompressed video file with Alpha Channel, then apply it into your website using a layer or dhtml popup
so admin, what you are saying is that SMU2 doesn’t have the ability to do a alpha channel key, im trying to make my video background transparent to use on my website. I know in Adobe aftereffects has it i was just wondering does SMU2 have it also
i havent tell you this, please read carefully:
smu2 handle alpha channnel BUT you have to realize a AVI uncompressed video file WITH alpha channel to edit this into smu2
you CAN realize alpha chan’s videos into Smu2, but final result will be not so good as make recording OUTSIDE SMU2: this because the codec of SMU2 are outdated if compared to new ones
in addition , you MUST have a dthml layer to put ANY transparent video backgrounds into your website, regardless wich software you use to create it

Vegas is an editing video software with chromaKey function
these products are not a choice to do, but a couple of software can be used sucessfully togheter
So could I use Ultra 2 to chromakey on my pc and then export it to Sony Vegas, Final Cut pro or another video editing software on a Mac?

I like the sets that are in the Ultra 2 Virtual set library. Can I just buy one of the Virtual set bundle and use it as a stand alone then added these to my 2004 revision of Serious Magic Visual Communicator or to the Adobe version of Visual Communicator 3 or do I need to purchase Ultra 2 with the Virtual Set I like do my video then drop it into an editor. I am new to all this and am not sure if this is a project that I would like to continue until I give it a try, therefore I don’t want to spend a fortune on something I will end up not pursuing. From what I am reading, Ultra 2 is a program that once installed will assist me in creating new set and then allow me with a Cam and Microphone to create a quality video that I can then drop into a editor in order to product the final product. I know this is multiple questions but I really need guidance.
Good day. I have purchased Ultra and Ultra 2 (and both Master Sets) many years ago and have it installed on an old Dell running XP. I would like to install the software on my newer Windows 7 (Vista Pro) computer but Ultra will not install and as a consequence of that, neither will Ultra 2. Can you help me? Serious Magic Visual Communicator isn’t a real product, just a mistype name wich i ususally find in pirated/warez sites
VisualCommunicator3 (wich is a real Adobe discontinued Product) is a completely different software from SMU2, and we do not know it so much, for this reason we cannot give you any further useful infos about it

Can I record video with background video and live camera preview on Ultra2? Adobe Ultra don’t have this function. Can you make this function in future? I would like to export video from Ultra into Adobe Premiere Pro different video tracks, witch one is Live camera preview and other is background video.

SMu still work like a charm and some function are the same included in Top Tools like Adobe Premiere
no upgrade exsist, as well New product .
the only way is to buy a used copy from us
remmeber that SMU was priced at 785$, the upgrde cost was around 400$

Hi,
I am planning on using Telestream Wirecast for doing webcast and webinars. All this is new to me, so I am investigating the options of importing virtual sets from SMU2 into Wirecast. (which is off-topic here).
But how about the other way around? Can I use SMU2 for doing live webcasting? Can I f.ex. live-record an interview with a person in front of a green screen, see the result with the virtual set on a second monitor, and webcast it to my website live? And what are my options to have a live feed on a virtual flat screen? Like a Skype video interview? I’ve come across some related articles where this is done with Wirecast. Can I replace Wirecast with SMU2?
Another feature I am wondering SMU2 has is a teleprompter ( like the Visual Communicator 3 has).
Any advice is welcome ;o)
1-Visual Communicator and SMU2 are two completely different products
2-we dont know/support wirecast so w cannot tell you anythingh about this, sorry
3-you can use smu2 to do a live Chroma key session, it is very easy, but to realize a live stram you will need a dobule video card with DV /broadcast out enabled to put it inside a video mixer. this is just to reply your question, but definitely SMU2 was not born to do this, but to aply chromakey easily + Virtual Scenes, then keep the result to sue into a post-production video software
